远程学习

We have received approval from the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) to offer our master’s degree programs in the online delivery format. M.S. 图书馆及资料处 科学项目和M.S. in Technology and Performance Improvement Studies program 都是在线课程. At CSU, an “online” program offers more than 50% of its 课程s in the web or hybrid delivery format.

A “网络”或“在线”课程 has been defined the following way: “Course is conducted entirely over the web through 一个课程管理系统的使用. Instructors and students are required to actively use 课程管理系统 in order to complete the various components of the 课程." These 课程s can be in the following modalities:

(a) Asynchronous – where students are not required to be available at a specific time 在常规的基础上或

(b) Synchronous – the classes meet through various software at regularly scheduled times; however the student does not come to campus.

A “hybrid” (blended) 课程 has been defined in the following way:  “Course materials include a significant amount of electronic materials/activities provided online through 课程管理系统. Class sessions include a limited number of scheduled sessions on campus, as well as a significant number of sessions comprised of online activities and interaction with no requirement to physically be on campus. 学生 are required to actively use 课程管理系统 in order to complete the 课程的各个组成部分.合同页. 191-192.

The 课程 management system used at CSU is Moodle.

远程学习声明

The 课程s within the information studies’ degree programs and certificates are primarily offered as online, Internet-based 课程s. This format allows students to complete their 课程work from anywhere, at any time, as long as they have access to the Internet. However, while flexibility for students to schedule their study time, assignments and activities have specified due dates and expectations. 此外,一些教员 may offer opportunities for students to be online at specific times to interact as 一个类.

Online 课程s are not easier than traditional, face-to-face 课程s. 一些学生 find online 课程s require more time and effort, as far more reading and writing 通常是必需的.  Therefore, these 课程s are geared towards graduate students, who can take responsibility for their own learning, who are comfortable using necessary technologies, and able to communicate effectively through writing. To be successful, it is expected students will log into the 课程 frequently (at least two to three times per week) and be active in their participation.
